So here is a new series of shoots we will be doing time to time, entitled “People in wrong places”.
Well, this all came about as a challenge to give viewers a view of a world of different norms. And to express the current happenings of our world in which people pursue a certain career and end up doing something different in their life, or the contrast behind the dreams and the true reality of individuals lives.
Zena is a poet/singer and aspiring model. While pursuing her law degree, fell in love with another form of art which is photography..when asked why she ventured into this exciting world she replied saying, “I love art in al it’s forms, so it wasn’t hard to fall for this one, but the one thing that stands out to me about photography is that in it’s on weird way, it manages to make a still picture tell a story…” and that more so is the reason why you should work with JLP…because your life is a story he is ready to capture…
Read between the smiles…to the confidence she practiced…the screams in her silence , thought God put less work in designing her so she put more effort in her accent…the world fooled when she laughed, that she had not a single problem…pain wasn’t a feeling she felt often , but she was pitch black under that golden , she was hurting , pale and broken… But they could not see the crooked in her straight smile….
For this shoot I collaborated with the legendary Joseph Lusumpa who I’m convinced is a magician with the lens.
For most of my looks, only the baddest store with all things urban, Swagger the store CAME THROUGH! I’m all about synergy and I wouldn’t have been able to put these looks together without of the help of stylist and ultimate ‘yo bally’ Kabunda Mulenga . I’m truly grateful for them all.
